Corrective ExerciseCorrective exercise (CE) is a program designed to address the musculature and restore functional movement. You can incorporate CE into your massage therapy session or set up a separate CE session. You can choose to have a program that is mostly done on your own at home or come to the office for supervised sessions.

Each CE session has three components:
1. Calming overactive muscles. Overactive muscles are working too hard. Calming strategies:
2. Activating underactive muscles through strengthening exercises. Underactive muscles aren’t working hard enough. We start gently with body-weight exercises (no resistance except gravity) and increase from there. All exercise is designed to be within your tolerance levels. Activating strategies:
3. Integration exercises. These exercises tie it all together by working both underactive and overactive components to get them working together. Deb is a Certified Personal Trainer and holds an M.S. degree in Exercise Science. CE is a specialty program within the fitness industry. CE restores strength and balance that has been lost due to injury, illness, inactivity, or repetitive motion that habitually works muscles in a way that creates imbalance. Once a person graduates from CE work, Deb will refer to personal trainers she knows and trusts. |
